Cutline

For creators who post the news

A link in.A vertical short out.

Paste a story. Cutline writes a 30–60 second script in its own words, stacks the captions, and renders a 9:16 video on your device. You post it. The source stays credited.

No API key needed to try it. Rendering stays on your device, so a finished video does not add a server bill.

01

Bring a story

Paste a link, or paste the text when a site will not open. A few sample stories are built in so you can try it with no key.

02

Get a script

A hook, a few beats, and a close. Demo mode writes a summary in new words. Pro, once it is turned on, asks Grok to write from the article.

03

Check the frames

Each beat gets an on-screen line. Drop your own photo or short clip, or leave the graphic background. A free Pexels or Pixabay key also unlocks a stock search.

04

Download a vertical MP4

The file is built in the browser, so there is no render server to pay for. Captions are burned in. Music and a voice can be saved in the file. The source stays credited.

Simple pricing, while it is small.

The free plan is enough to see if you will post. Pro is $19 a month for Grok scripts and voice, after accounts and Stripe are connected. Until then, the studio can preview the paid layout on this browser. That preview does not call Grok.

Questions a careful founder asks

Do I need an API key to try it?

No. Demo mode writes a structured summary and a captioned video without calling a model.

Who pays for AI?

Nobody, until Pro is turned on. The free creator does not call a model. Pro uses the owner's xAI key, and only a signed-in Pro account can spend it, up to 40 videos a month.

Where is the video made?

On the viewer's phone or laptop. Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox can all export. Hosting the site can stay on a free plan because you are not rendering video on a server.

How does the free voice get into the file?

Play voiceover only previews with the browser's speech and is not saved. Create computer voice downloads a free voice (about 90 MB, once) and saves it in the MP4. You can also record with the microphone. Pro can save Grok's voice in the file instead.

Can I post what it makes?

The script is a summary, and the source stays on screen and in the caption. You still need the right to use any photo, and you should read the original before you post. Cutline is not a law firm.
